The TIE Regulator was produced to be the mainstay of the Imperail fleet. It is slightly faster and more maneuverable than a standard issue TIE interceptor while slightly less than a TIE Advanced. The Regulator is cheap and easy to mass produce. It works well in both large numbers and small groups due to it improved hull and added shields. The shields are not top quality but are far better than having none as with the Tie interceptor. The TIE Venom, while not a "super-fighter" provides more than the answer to the needs of the Imperial Fighter Corps.
