The XV-42 SunFire was designed to be a multi-purpose fighter. Due to advances in technology it is slightly less expensive than and TIE advanced and easier to mass produce. It has a good chance of being one of the Empire's next great fighters. Unlike many Imperial Craft it has no realation to the TIE starfighter design. It is closer to resembling the Assault Gunboat.
